Normally, I’m not much of a nut person. I have never liked Pistachios much so I didn’t expect to feel differently about these. I was surprised when I tried one and actually liked it. They were so fresh tasting that I found I could easily snack on them. I originally only purchased these because I needed more sources of protein, however I keep purchasing them because I really like them.

If I get a chance to get the organic pistachios from CVS, I’ll try to take a comparison photo. I would have rated this a bit higher if this company had not made such a big fuss about its pistachios being “Extra large sized” — True California, you’re getting dinged for false advertisement! You’ll lose customer trust if you oversell your product… Ironically, out of all the pistachios that I’ve eaten over decades and in more than one country, I don’t remember any of them being so SMALL as these!
The color is excellent and nice bright green. The taste is not bad, but a bit on the bland side. I’ve eaten much more flavorful pistachios (plain, unsalted and unflavored in any way). The quality is good in terms of not having any moldy ones in the mix, like most other brands.
For Amazon, this brand seems relatively the best priced, but honestly, when CVS has it in stock, it’s way cheaper… I’ll still get a two-pound bag because we eat pistachios regularly and, as I noted, the organic ones are not always in stock at CVS.
UPDATE: the photos show California organic pistachios on top and CVS organic ones (“abound” unsalted organic pistachios) on bottom. You can see that the California ones are a much nicer green.

I was searching for pistachios ORGANICALLY GROWN IN CALIFORNIA. My choices were limited. I took a leap of faith & ordered these. I’m happy to report that we are 100% pleased with this purchase. They’re fresh & flavorful. They’re raw, unsalted & are not roasted. The one & only ingredient is ORGANIC PISTACHIOS in the shell. That’s it! No oils have been added, nor any preservatives, etc.
Pistachios are a good source of fiber & plant-based protein. They have a positive effect on your gut! They contain high levels of unsaturated fats that our bodies need for optimum health. They help to keep our blood sugar, blood pressure & cholesterol in check.
If you watch PBS, you may be familiar with Dr. Fuhrman. He recommends that we should eat greens, onions, beans, berries, mushrooms, seeds & nuts, daily.
