No tracking onto floor
I have just started using this and I have no problem with the litter. My cat does not track it all over my floor and it is less smelly with the deodorizer in it. Price is okay but would like to see it cheaper but will pay no matter what. Because I like it.

I have tried several different cat liters and Fresh Step is the only brand that seems to be able to cover the stink from my cat’s litter box. It is a bit heavy and there is some dust, but those two things are very small problems in comparison to the power it has to cover up the stink.

Instead of a boring review written by me, I decided to go straight into the trenches with my 2 cats, Boris and Bobcat, and ask them why they prefer Fresh Step cat litter over any other brand.I’m reporting from Boris and Bobcat’s litter box, located in their home towards the back part of the house. Works wonders
This has been our litter of choice as it works well and really, you can’t go wrong with a Febreze scent.The only thing that’s keeping me from rating it five stars is the fact that even though it says 99% dust free there is still a lot of dust. However, I am yet to find a dustless clumping litter…so if you know of one, please send it my way

average quality
I have two cats, so this is an on going problem with quality liter. This liter does absorb but leaves the bottom of the pan moist. This makes the smell bad and cleaning a little messy. It was average based on the cost. It was convenient to have delivered. I would buy again for the cost, just be sure to clean often especially if you have multiple cats.

Clumps effectively…best of the Fresh Step clumping litters.
I’ve tried most of the Fresh Step clumping litters and this one has been the best so far. The other versions sort of work, but this version actually clumps instead of breaking up and does it in a much shorter amount of time making the litter box easier to clean.

Yes, it clumps well. The deodorizers in the formula do help control smell. But the dust! I can’t believe how much it talks about 99.9% dust-free on the box. Bald-faced lie!

Love it
I really love this cat litter, even though most clay cat litters, do you have dust? It really does not bother me in my household. The dust is as regular as any other cat litter if you’re pouring from a pie so the key for it to be dust free is the poor love to avoid it And don’t complain about it being just because it’s clay. I feel clay cat litter like this is the only one that really works as far as the smell and clumping everything other is a good runner-up, but clay litter will always be the number one choice for a lot of pet owners and the smell is great. The tracking is as normal as you can get for a clay cat litter but as long as you have something under the litter box, then you will be fine , unfortunately there is no way to reduce the tracking from a cat because they have to sit in the litter to use the bathroom so I think as a pet owner you just have to suck it up and sweep what you can and buy a man that allows the litter to drop in the man there’s pros and cons to having a cat so clay litter is what I will always good, but this one is great. I love it in the smell is amazing. I don’t smell in a urine or smell any poop within the house and that’s the number one thing that I Like

Buying again gets rid of smell
I tried other cat litters and my bf has one in his rr and it made the rr smell. I got this litter and the smell is gone and the litter in the box smells good and clean. One thing tho when you put it in the litter box there is a lot of dust as if smoked bombed you.

I love my fur baby, but I don’t want my house or her paws and fur to smell like cat urine when she steps out of her litter box. I also don’t want chunky litter bits trailing out of the box with her when she hops out.I know there are people out there that are against scented and/or clumping litter because they believe it isn’t good for cats.I would like to disagree with those people.I’ve had my fur baby girl for 8 years, and have only used this litter for her since her very 1st litter box day when I bought her home at 2 months old. She’s never had any illnesses, she’s never had any skin, coat or tummy issues from the litter, she’s a very healthy and super active adult cat. She’s also the only fur baby in the home, and has been since day 1.My family had used many other litters throughout the past 30 years with cats we had… thank goodness litter has come a long way over those years lol. Ever since the first time I purchased Fresh Step clumping litter, I’ve NEVER bought anything else. I have tried the different scents Fresh Step clumping litter has, but I absolutely love this Extreme Febreze scent the most.I have the litter box sitting on a large litter mat… I’m telling you there’s barely any litter that makes its way out of the box, it’s so great! The litter clumps immediately when she goes potty, it doesn’t stick to her paws or in her little nails. The air around her litter box smells so good 100% of the time, especially after she goes potty and moves the litter around… it releases the amazingly fresh scent in the litter.I know it probably sounds odd to say litter smells great after a cat just pooped in the litter box… but, it really does!It’s easy to scoop everything out, the clumping power of this litter is the best I’ve ever, ever, ever tried. I do clean the potty out of the litter box twice a day, which everyone should also do honestly. Not only is it about the cleanliness of removing waste, it also keeps the litter smelling great longer and allows the litter to keep clumping up immediately.I buy a larger amount of this from my local store up the road, but when they are out of it I will come to Amazon to order it…because this is literally the only litter I use.

best affordable litter
This is the best clumping litter I have ever used. It doesn’t have any strong unpleasant odors and cleans up nicely. I just scoop down and lift. The mess dislodges without breaking apart too much so the litter stays pretty clean and lasts a long time. When it starts getting a little low, I just add another couple inches so it is economical because it doesn’t have to be dumped more than a few times a year. I have used this brand for many years and it remains my first choice.

Does not track. Finally get to put the broom down.
This cat litter does not track finally a cat litter that I can actually use and put the broom down. I have tried so many brands of cat litter in the past. I have had cats since I was 16 years old. Some are dusty, some gets tracked around the litter box & some does not cover odor well. This checks all of the boxes on what I was looking for! The Febreeze adds a nice fresh scent. The litter itself clumps exceptionally well. Thank you for making such a wonderful product.

Better than most national brand regular clumping litter but not magical “10 day” litter
This is very good cat litter – not very dusty, is absorbent and clumps well. Also the scent is not just a pleasant aroma, but it is P&G’s Febreze molecules that do encapsulate odors, not just cover them up. So if you’re away over a weekend, or less-than-punctual on changing your cat box (no judgment!) then this will be far better than cheap store brand litter or some of the other brands of clumping clay litter.It’s not magic though! Clean our boxes regularly, fellow cat-staff members. And I really doubt the “controls odor up to 10 days” claim.I don’t particularly recommend buying it here, though I just did again this week. At least not in the 14 or 28 pound individual box variants. Amazon packs them in an outer box with nothing but a basically-for-show strip of airpack (large bubble plastic) that does nothing against a heavy box of non-hermetically-sealed cat litter. Thus, some, or at times a lot of cat litter comes out, sloshing around the bottom of the box or coming out of it entirely through the corners and loosely-taped shipping box. That’s what happened to me on my latest shipment. I can’t blame the Amazon delivery people nor really the hardworking Amazon fulfillment center workers either – those packaging materials are what they are given to work with, and work reasonably well when there are lighter items or less room to shift around during the many stages of transport.If you are going to buy it from Amazon, I suggest getting the 38 (or 42) pound package of 4 plastic bags of 9.5 or 10.5 pounds. That’s both fully sealed and more convenient, because you can take out and use only one bag at a time, or bring just one each over to each catbox for multi-cat households. I used to get that on Amazon Subscibe-and-Save but it regularly would go out of stock.It is good litter though, and Amazon’s pricing is reasonable for it.

The best cheapest cat litter on the market!
I’ve been using Fresh Step for many years. And if you have multiple rescue cats, and you’re on a budget…Fresh Step is the best! I’ve tried other brands, and they never held a candle to Fresh Step. It clumps the entire urine and feces without breaking up, so there are no annoying little pieces to scoop up. It contains the smell of both urine and feces because of the activated carbon in the litter absorbs and traps odors.. It also clumps diarrhea really well if your cat has a tummy issue. It tracks very little, but good litter mat will eliminate tracking litter on the floor. Above all else, my cats like it. When people come over for the first time, they don’t know I have a cat until one of my kitties comes out to see who’s there. I never have any litter box smells. The only downside is the dust. I bought a small air purifier on Amazon and put it next to the litter boxes. It helps cut the dust in the room down. I would still highly recommend Fresh Step though. I always buy the Odor Shield and the Gain scented one. In my opinion, they are the best with odors. I also buy a Febreze plug in refill for extra measure in the laundry room/cat room, so I have 0 smells. FYI- just because Fresh Step contains odors, doesn’t mean you should be lax with cleaning the litter box/ boxes. I clean all mine several times a day. Just think of a porta potty and how nasty they are. It’s the same with a dirty litter box. Cats are clean creatures and do not like using the bathroom in a filthy litter box, just like you wouldn’t want to use the toilet full of human waste!

Great at hiding scent, terrible for clumping and cleanliness
I bought this cat litter about two weeks ago and with previous litters, a 14-16 lbs box lasts a month for my one cat, yet my box is empty after two weeks. The scent is fine and honestly, if you add baking soda to the litter it will mask the smell EXTREMELY well for a longer period. The clumping is not great and breaks apart easily. The litter also clumps easily which means it makes big clumps which makes the litter go quicker. It has filled up my LitterGenie after only two weeks when it usually takes a month AND there is still room in the bag at the end of the month. I think this would be great if you just got the cat and need something easily accessible in a pet or grocery store as you can find this usually in Walmart or Target. I wouldn’t recommend this long term as you will end up going through the litter more quickly than other brands and it will be a bigger financial burden than using Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal or a higher-end crystal litter. Personally, I will try another litter or go back to Clump & Seal and mix it with both baking soda and a litter deodorizer as the lack of scent reduction is what caused me to look into other brands like this one in the first place. Scent masking and not irritating or impacting my cat is great with this litter but the cons are what setback this litter significantly.

Doesn’t track out of the box
Doesn’t track out of the box, absorbs really great helping to keep his feet cleaner. But what is really great about this litter is there’s no smell in the air from the covered litter box now. With other litter, the smell would come from downstairs and up two flights of stairs. Disgusting. I’ve used just about every kind of cat litter to get rid of the smell and the baking soda coming back out of the box and tracked up the stairs.

I always liked this particular litter (and my cat approves) – vut also tealized it’s one of those items where I’m sooooo glad not to have to drag it through half a store, and a long parking lot. One box lasts about a month for us. Highly recommended.
